For the first time on Saturday 12th May 2007 at 5pm Ca' delle Rose opens its garden full of young antique roses and fruit, aromatic and perennial herbs. Ca' delle Rose experiences its garden as its roses do: they’re free and rich in light, water and dew. That is why Ca' delle Rose wishes to share the enchanting flowering of its rose garden thus paying tribute to the rose, the flower of Life and Love. This flower embodies the close bond between the sacred and the profane, the femininity and the woman’s determination to regenerate in each season like a rose. Rose. Woman. Symbols of regeneration. Both show their beauty. As queen of flowers the rose has been a source of the finest thoughts and pages ever written in history and it still is.
Rainer Maria Rilke celebrated this assumption in his poem Une rose seule, c'est toutes les roses:
«Una sola rosa è tutte le rose
e insieme quella sola: l’irreplicabile,
la perfetta, la tenerezza che si può dire a parole,
incastonata nel testo delle cose.
Come mai potremmo dire, senza di lei,
ciò che furono le nostre speranze
e le intermittenze tenere
nel nostro incessante andare altrove?»
... these words to say how the rose has always been part of the life, soul and love of man. Among natural lights, fragrances and colours, shrub arches and espaliered fruit trees visitors will enjoy the photographs taken by the author of La Grazia Delle Rose – two-volume oeuvre to be published soon – and the watercolours made by Parisian illustrator Vincent Brunot exclusively for Ca' delle Rose. Rose-related poems by the greatest authors ever – from Omar Kahyyam to Emily Dickinson, from Sappho to Robert Desnos – will be briefly performed to add a unique flavour to the evening. Visitors will also enjoy unusual rose-tasting delicacies prepared by the maison.
Ca' delle Rose warmly WELCOMES YOU ALL!
